When I reflect on my career, I've always been a coach in some form or another, I just didn't know it for a long time! I've always been drawn to helping people and it was only when I started paying attention to what others saw in me that I didn't see in myself that I truly started to explore my purpose.
Welcome and thanks for stopping by!
I'm a leadership and performance coach and I work with organisations to enhance their leadership and performance capability through team facilitation, corporate training and one-on-one coaching.
I've had several years direct experience working as an IT consultant and have held leadership responsibilities looking after teams of up to over 140 people. These experiences in leadership have shaped how I work with teams and individuals - every approach I take has a strong practical element to making it work... often going that extra mile.
Having a professional grounding in human transformation is important to me and, over the years I have earned a BSc in Psychology as well as several other professional qualifications in areas such as leadership coaching, neuro-linguistic programming and hypnotherapy.
I'm originally from Ireland and, armed with that Irish sense of humour and a BSc in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, I immigrated to New Zealand in 2006. I count myself lucky to have had such a wide ranging and diverse career which has afforded me the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life and across many industries including the fitness industry, the government sector, the industrial sector, IT consulting, construction, and banking.

I started Results Coaching in 2012 (formally known as Setanta Consulting) and since then I've had the pleasure of working with hundreds of leaders and teams from some of New Zealand's most important organisations. Results Coaching continues to exist for two reasons:
1. To help you and your team achieve your goals and get the results you strive for.
2. To help you unleash your potential and live your life to the max.
first, lead yourself
This book is amazing, I had so many ‘aha’ moments. Although not really a self-help book, I've learnt so much about myself from Cillín, I'm now more comfortable being me and more aware of my personal rules, I didn't realise I had so many! The wisdom Cillín shares has enabled me to become more resilient, a better leader, and most importantly, a better parent. First, Lead Yourself not only tackles the biggest problem in leadership development that holds millions of people back from achieving their full potential, it weaves together the essential ingredients required for your own success as a leader. This book is full of practical tools, exercises and insightful stories that will accelerate you along the path towards achieving your leadership goals.
First, Lead Yourself by Cillín Hearns certainly isn’t the stereotypical paint by numbers approach to coaching books. Instead it is full insightful stories of someone I have got to know but didn’t know. A book about how to become extraordinary for the average person. Open, Read, Think. Luke Johnstone

Working with Cillín as my coach over the last few years he has taught me many, many tips, tricks, techniques, and strategies to inspect and learn about myself so that I can grow in my own leadership journey. This book is an amazing toolkit collection of those teachings and I for one am extremely grateful to have it all pulled together in one place. June McClintock

now, lead others
Cillín has uniquely intertwined leadership principles in a captivating story that not only keeps the reader engaged but also eases the barrier for those readers who struggle to get through the all too common theory-heavy leadership books currently on the market. I recommend this book to leaders who wish to gain the insight and tools into how to build a high performing team and to seasoned leaders as a guiding resource for mentoring and growing future leaders. Now, Lead Others is a fable about common leadership challenges seen in many organisations throughout the world. This easy to read story follows Nathan Strife as he is thrust into a high-stakes mountain rescue where everything he thought he knew about leadership is thrown into question. During his adventure Nathan learns the difference between leadership theory and the practical application of leadership skills in the real world.
Leadership books can be a chore sometimes but this one was engaging and easy to read, with the same humour and sense of mischief Cillín brought in his first book. However, Now, Lead Others is different, it's a story of adventure. I found the book took me on a personal journey of reflection, intrigue and excitement, eager to put the lessons learnt into action. Now, Lead Others cleverly condenses key leadership concepts into a clear and engaging format. I was hooked from the start, and the practical examples made it easy to see how these ideas could be applied in my own day-to-day work. Whether you're aiming to build a high-performing team or simply become a more effective leader, Now, Lead Others offers invaluable insights and actionable strategies. Highly recommended! Emma Parker

Giving back to the community has always been important to me. That’s why he set up the Wellington Leadership Group which has grown to over 2,000 members. The purpose behind this group is to raise the awareness and capability of leadership throughout New Zealand.
In a more tangible way, Results Coaching also sponsors the I am Hope Foundation by collecting donations from the Wellington Leadership Group; we then double the collective contributions made by all participants to give those less fortunate in our society the opportunity to thrive.
